Hello,

I've been trying to upgrade my Windows 7 Pro to the Windows 10 with Media Creation Tool. I need to keep my aps and settings so I don't want to make a clean install.
Unfortunately every time I try to upgrade it fails and rolles back with the following error: "0x8007001F - 0x20006 The installation was not successful. Error in Phase SAFE_OS during REPLICATE_OC."

I've spend plenty of time on Google and tried all fixes I could find like to delete unnecessary software and files, turn off anty-virus software, remove all old USB devices, run a disc clean up an so on. I also tried running the upgrade from USB and DVD but it ended the same.

So finally I found your forum and made all the steps from your "posting instructions". SFCFix.exe found one corruption in SURT that cannot be fixed automatically. So you are my last hope to run an upgrade instead of making clean install and spend another month to recreate all my apps and settings :) Please help!

The CBS file was too big, so here is the link: CBS.zip
SFCFix Log is attached.

Thanks in advance!

Best regards
Ilo B.

If it helps I also tried to fix this corrupted update file with Microsoft KB947821 tool according to the instructions they give on their site, but it also failed :(
So you are really my last hope as I have no idea what more I could try :)

Hi again. As my post is still unanswered and above-mentioned 72-hour period of replying to the post has long passed, I am starting to worry if anyone here is actually still helping :) And I need this help very much.

So, could someone just write to me whether I should wait further for your help or look for another solution / specialist? I will be grateful :)

Hi!

FRST Registry Search
1. Click your Start button and type in cmd.
2.After you find the Command Prompt, right click on it and select Run as Administrator.
3. Copy and paste the following into the Command Prompt:

reg load HKLM\COMPONENTS C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\COMPONENTS

4. Please download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your Desktop.
Note: You need to run the 64-bit Version so please ensure you download that one.
5. Run FRST64 by Right-Clicking on the file and choosing Run as administrator.
6. Copy and paste KB2952664 into the Search box and click the Search Registry button.
7. When the scan is complete a notepad window will open with the results. Please attach this to your next reply. It is saved on your desktop named SearchReg.txt.

Thanks.

Step#1 - FRST Fix
NOTICE: This script was written specifically for this user, for use on that particular machine. Running this on another machine may cause damage to your operating system
1. Please download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your Desktop.
Note: You need to run the 64-bit Version so please ensure you download that one.
2. Download the attached fixlist.txt and save it to the Desktop.
Note. It's important that both files, FRST64 and fixlist.txt are in the same location or the fix will not work (in this case...the desktop).
3. Run FRST64 by Right-Clicking on the file and choosing Run as administrator.
4. Press the Fix button just once and wait. If for some reason the tool needs a restart, please make sure you let the system restart normally. After that let the tool complete its run.
5. When finished FRST64 will generate a log on the Desktop (Fixlog.txt). Please post the contents of it in your reply.
6. Reboot and retry the upgrade.

Ok, thanks again. The fix is done, I attach the log file. Unfortunately it is too late tonight to run the upgrade, so I will try it tomorrow's evening and let you know. Anyway thank for your time and efforts. I appreciate.

Everything went well and Windows 10 upgrade is done :) So thanks a lot for your help! I already made a donation to appreciate your time and efforts.
