Dear Sysnative,

I am hopeful that you will be able to help me with a problem that I have been unable to fix myself for a few months now. The update constantly wants to be installed, but never seems to succeed.

I've tried a variety of fixes for .NET framework including running a few Microsoft fix tools, and even uninstalling and re-installing all the .NET frameworks. The problem is annoying, but not critical, so I left it for a few months.

Today I've done the following:
1) Run Windows Update from DVD
2) Ran RegBak.exe and saved components.zip file
2) Run sfc /scannow and saved CBS.zip file
3) Run SFCFix.exe and saved SFCFix.txt

KB2972211 still refuses to install, but perhaps the attached will help shed some light onto the matter?

Many thanks,
Peter

Hello Peter and welcome to the forum :)

This does not look to good I am afraid, there are a lot of errors identifed here:
Code:
SUMMARY: Some corruptions could not be fixed automatically. Seek advice from helper or sysnative.com.
CBS & SFC total detected corruption count: 94
CBS & SFC total unimportant corruption count: 0
CBS & SFC total fixed corruption count: 12
SURT total detected corruption count: 242
SURT total unimportant corruption count: 0
SURT total fixed corruption count: 216
AutoAnalysis:: directive completed successfully.

Normally when this large amount of corruptions are found, it indicates a failing HDD. What I recommend from here is to run some HDD diagnostics. Please follow the steps here for SeaTools HDD Diagnostics. Run a Long test and a Short test, then report back the results to this thread.

chkdsk /f scan

Warning:: This fix is specific to the user in this thread. No one else should follow these instructions as it may cause more harm than good. If you are after assistance, please start a thread of your own.

Warning:: Before doing anything it is a good idea to back up any data/files that are important to you, in case your hard drive is dying. Please see Here

  1. Right click on the Start button and select Run as administrator
  2. When command prompt opens, copy and paste the following commands into it, press enter after each

    chkdsk /f

  3. Reboot
  4. Download ListChkdskResult.exe (by SleepyDude) from Here
  5. Double click on it to run it. It will take a few seconds to scan, then it will open a Notepad window with the log. Copy and paste the contents of this into your next post please!

Please follow the instructions for MemTest86+, for atleast 10 passes. Let me know the results.
