The 4 updates that it was busy with did not want to install afterwards and I kept on getting an error code in the update window. Today I again tried to resolve the problem. I followed a help link and installed The System Update Readiness Tool for Windows 7 (KB947821) [May 2014] That took care of two of the 4 updates that would not install. The following two updates will however not install 1) Security Update for Windows (KB2931356) Installation date: 2014/06/17 10:17 PM Installation status: Failed Error details: Code 80073712 Update type: Important Fix for KB2931356 I followed the link - More information: MS14-026: Description of the security update for the .NET Framework 3.5.1 on Windows 7 Service Pack 1 and Windows Server 2008 R2 Service Pack 1: May 13, 2014 and downloaded Security Update for Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5.1 on Windows 7 Service Pack 1 and Windows Server 2008 R2 Service Pack 1 - file name downloaded Windows6.1-KB2931356-x86.msu This did however not fix the problem 2) Security Update for Windows 7 (KB2871997) - Installation date: 2014/06/17 10:03 PM - Installation status: Failed - Error details: Code 80073712 I also followed the link More information: Microsoft Security Advisory: Update to improve credentials protection and management: May 13, 2014 and downloaded : Security Update for Windows 7 (KB2871997) File name downloaded - Windows6.1-KB2871997-v2-x86.msu This did however not fix the problem I also ran the "sfc /scannow" command with the outcome - Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations.
