[SOLVED] Unable to update Windows 7 64 bit to SP1

I have had long term problems updating to SP1 for windows 7, always with no explanation rather than Error Code 0x800f0900 (Good old windows!), I have followed a thread I found here; https://www.sysnative.com/forums/windows-update/4736-windows-update-forum-posting-instructions.html and these are the results:

SFCFix Script

Warning: this fix is specific to the user in this thread. No one else should follow these instructions as it may cause more harm than good. If you are after assistance, please start a thread of your own.

Download SFCFix.exe (by niemiro) and save this to your Desktop.
Download the file below, SFCFixScript.txt, and save this to your Desktop. Ensure that this file is named SFCFix.zip - do not rename it.
Save any open documents and close all open windows.
On your Desktop, you should see two files: SFCFix.exe and SFCFixScript.txt.
Drag the file SFCFixScript.txt onto the file SFCFix.exe and release it.
SFCFix will now process the script.
Upon completion, a file should be created on your Desktop: SFCFix.txt.
Copy (Ctrl+C) and Paste (Ctrl+V) the contents of this file into your next post for me to analyse - put [CODE][/CODE] tags around the log to break up the text.

Windows Update Package Replacement

Please download the attached file, Packs.zip and save this to your Desktop.
Right-click on the file and select Extract All...
Tick the box labelled Show extracted files when complete then click Extract
A window will open showing the folder Packages
Open the Packages folder and copy the files into the following folder

C:\Windows\Temp\CheckSur\Servicing\Packages
Run the System Update Readiness Tool (SURT) again.
When the SURT finishes installing, attach the SURT log into your next post:

C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CheckSUR.persist.log

I'm trying to find the source for your Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable Version 8.0.50727.363
Does it appear in the list of installed programs? If so, what else was installed the same day?

I cant find it listed at all in the Updates history, or in the start menu. Ive tried searching my main drive but all that happens is it opens an internet search browser! Anything I can do to help find it?

Oh on a side note Service Pack 1 installed last night and my windows update tool is now full of updates and downloading.

Ok, over 100 updates were installed this morning, the only one to fail (near the beginning of the mass installation) was KB3035132, and one cancelled: KB2919469. Other than that everything installed properly and there appears to be no more further updates. A job well done, thank you!
