Hello guys,

i am unable to update my computer past version 1909. I have tried to run the update directly from windows website but end up with the listed error: "Feature update to Windows 10, version 22H2 (2), Last failed install attempt on ‎01-‎Jul-‎23 - 0xc1900101"
I have also tried to follow a couple of steps listed around the web such as restoring BIOS to default, running windows update diagnostic etc.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi and welcome to Sysnative,

Download and run SetupDiag from Microsoft
  • Download
    60e45c659164d-SetupDiag.png
    SetupDiag to your desktop.
  • Right-click on SetupDiag.exe and select Run as administrator.
  • When completed the following files are created: "Logs.zip, SetupDiag.exe.config and SetupDiagResults.log"
  • Attach SetupDiagResults.log and Logs.zip to your next reply.

Hello and thank you for your reply. I am unable to run setupdiag as it closes immediatly when running, and produces no files. Using a recording software i am able to grap a screengrab just before the window closes, but it doesnt appear to display any errors:

Hi,

Please check if the following folder exist:

- %SystemDrive%\$Windows.~BT\Sources

If so, ZIP this folder to your desktop and attach it to your next post.

Download the

Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your Desktop:

Download the 64 bit version: - Farbar Recovery Scan Tool Link

  • Note: Your antivirus program may report FRST incorrectly as an infection. If so, disable the real-time protection when downloading and running FRST.
  • Right-click to run the tool as administrator. When the tool opens click Yes to disclaimer.
  • Note: Ensure that the Addition.txt check box is checked at the bottom of the form within the Optional Scan area.
  • Press the Scan button.
  • Please wait for the tool to finish. It will produce two logfiles called FRST.txt and Addition.txt in the same directory the tool is run from (which should be the desktop)
  • Post the logfiles FRST.txt and Addition.txt as attachment in your next reply.

Please don't quote my previous post.

Motherboard: ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC. PRIME X399-A
Processor: AMD Ryzen Threadripper 1950X 16-Core Processor

I would suggest to install the latest BIOS version first (PRIME X399-A BIOS 1601) - [Version 1601 6.03 MB 2023/05/09] and let me know the result.

That has sorted it!

I went into my BIOS and tried updating it via internet, it updated to version 1203 (2019). I then manually updated it to 1601 via USB. When that was complete i tried to run the windows update on my pc, but it was still not able to update by itself. I then downloaded the update helper from windows manually and that did the trick!

Thank you my friend!
