Hello. Followed the steps of the forum posting instructions. System File Checker found corrupt files and was unable to repair some of them, while the Deployment Image Service and Management tool ended with a failed "processing package changes with session option CbsSessionOptionRepairStoreCorruption" and an error code 0x800f081f. The corrupted file was C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework64\v4.0.30319\\System.Web.dll according to the CBS log. Attached are the .log and .txt files, latter being that SFCFix crashed after a few seconds of starting.

Once again, thanks for bringing me here for recommendations.

Hi I'm Gary R,

I'm a Security Analyst, and a Windows Update Trainee, and I'd like to help you with your problems.

As a trainee, any instructions I give you must first be checked by a qualified update expert, before I post them. This will by necessity introduce some delay to any of my replies, so please be patient.

I am looking over your logs now, and will be back as soon as I've finished analysing them.

WARNING! The following fix is specific to the user's system in this thread only. No one else should follow these instructions, as it could damage your system.

  • Download SFCFix.exe and save it to your desktop.
  • Download the attachment SFCFix.zip and also save it on your desktop.
  • Save any work you have open, and close all programs.
  • Drag the SFCFix.zip file over the SFCFix.exe executable and release it.

  • SFCFix will launch, let it complete.
  • Once done, a file will appear on your desktop, called SFCFix.txt
  • Open the file, then copy and paste its content in your next reply.

Next ...

  • Restart the computer.
  • Run the command SFC /SCANNOW in an elevated command prompt and report the result.
  • If it fails, attach a zipped C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log to your next reply.

Followed instructions on previous post; at the end, the System File Checker scan resulted in at least a corrupt file found that was repairable.
How are these logs now?

Your latest logs look OK.

Please try updating your computer.

If successful let me know.

If unsuccessful, please post your latest C:\Windows\logs\CBS.log

Already up to date. Thanks again!
Will do let you know if something like this happens in the future...

You're welcome, glad we could help you with your problem.
