Like the title says, the 3 updates (KB3042058, KB2920189, KB2975331) have failed to install at least 5 times. I'm trying to update my Windows 8.0 x64 to Windows 10. First I need Windows 8.1 installed, which means first I need all the updates to install. I've tried to install these updates at least 5 times and it gets to 100% and then says, "Failure Configuring Updates. Reverting Changes." and reboots.

So anyways I ran the SFCfix provided and copied the CBS log to the desktop, but I have not zipped or attached it to this thread because it is 7.96GB! When I ran SFCfix it did take 2-3 hours to complete, and now when I run it it doesn't run anything and closes and opens a SFCfix.txt file saying nothing was found.

Suggestions?

Hi and welcome to Sysnative. My suggestion would be to upgrade directly to Windows 10 using the Media Creation Tool. That way you won't have to go to 8.1 first. Do the following.

1. Download and run the Windows 10 Media Creation Tool from here. Ensure you click on Download tool now.
2. Accept the License Terms.
3. Select "Upgrade this PC now" and click Next.
4. Follow the prompts and with a little luck you will be on Windows 10 in an hour or so.
