Unable to Install Windows 7 SP1

Follow the instructions below please.

WARNING! The following fix is specific to the user's system in this thread only. No one else should follow these instructions, as it could damage your system.

  • Download the attachment SFCFixScript.txt and save it on your desktop.
  • Save any work you have open, and close all programs.
  • Drag the SFCFixScript.txt file over the SFCFix.exe executable and release it.

  • SFCFix will launch, let it complete.
  • Once done, a file will appear on your desktop, called SFCFix.txt.
  • Open the file, then copy and paste its content in your next reply.

2. Right-click on FRST64.exe and select "Run as administrator".
3. Press the Fix button.
4. The tool will now process fixlist.txt.
5. If for some reason the tool needs a restart, please make sure you let the system restart normally. After that let the tool complete its run.
6. When finished, a log called Fixlog.txt will appear in the same directory the tool is run from.
7. Post the logfile Fixlog.txt as attachment in your next reply.

Step 2:
Check Windows Update again and report the result.
If it fails, run sfc /scannow again and attach the zipped cbs.log to your next reply.

Sorry it took me a couple days to get around to doing this, anyway log file is attached and I will try installing the update again now. Will report how that goes.

Tried with both windows update (which failed almost immediately), and the standalone installer (which failed after a while of trying to install). I've attached a screenshot of the error message I got after running the installation from the standalone installer as well.

Tried to install the update via windows update, which failed, error message was "windows has encountered an unknown error".
Ran sfc /scannow which found no issues. After that finished running I zipped the CBS folder and have attached it here. (CBS.zip)

Then I tied to install the update via the standalone installer. This also failed but gave a different error message, which I've attached a screenshot of.
Then I ran sfc /scannow again, which again found no issues, and then I zipped the CBS folder again and have also attached that here (CBS1.zip) in case there might be any differences between the 2 .
