Good morning,

I am unable to install any updates on my Windows 8.1 system. At one point, it was showing about 35 new updates. It now only shows one which is KB2962409.

I've attached my logs that you request and I hope you can help! :)

I am also noticing Disk Cleanup running periodically without me running it. This happens anywhere from 5 minutes apart to 35-40 minutes apart. It just runs and completes and goes away.

I have attempted to run DISM and receive Error: 1812 An initialization error has occurred. For more information, review the log file. Please let me know if you'd like me to post this log file as well.

Wow, I know this all volunteer but this was a complete waste. Six days goes by with no answer at all?

Hi,

Sorry for the wait. Can you please run DISM for me to see if it detects anything:

DISM

  1. Press the Windows Key on your keyboard and X to open up the Power User Tasks Menu
  2. Click (or tap) Command Prompt (admin)
  3. When command prompt opens, copy and paste the following commands into it, press enter after each

    DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth

Wait for this to finish before you continue (approximately 15 minutes)

    copy %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log %userprofile%\Desktop\cbs.txt

  4. This will create a file, cbs.txt on your Desktop. Please attach this to your next post.

I have attempted this and receive an Error 1802 no matter what I use for DISM command.

Ok, please run DISM once more even if you receive the error, and then perform the command to upload the CBS log. The CBS log will hopefully say why DISM is failing.
