Hi!

First of all I would like to say that I am really grateful for all the good magic you people do here!

So, I'll try to keep my post succinct. I'm running Windows 8.1 x64 and want to upgrade to Win10 however after running the troubleshooter provided by Windows (the GW10Appdiagnostic) it says that Windows is not up to date and that the missing update is the infamous KB2919355. I tried to install the update at least 10 times but I always get the message that "Windows was unable to configure the update, undoing changes" and the error is 800703F1. I downloaded the SFCFix tool but there were no corruptions detected. I would really appreciate a way out of this! Thanks in advance!
Here is the complete SFCFix log, the CBS file is attached too.

I don't know what went wrong with the CBS upload, I assume the file was too large. So I uploaded it to your server according to instructions.

Thanks.

SFCFix Script

Warning: this fix is specific to the user in this thread. No one else should follow these instructions as it may cause more harm than good. If you are after assistance, please start a thread of your own.

  1. [sfcfixdownload]Download SFCFix[/sfcfixdownload] (by niemiro) and save this to your Desktop.
  2. Download the attached file, SFCFixScript.txt, and save this to your Desktop. Ensure that this file is named SFCFixScript.txt - do not rename it.
  3. Save any open documents and close all open windows.
  4. On your Desktop, you should see two files: SFCFix.exe and SFCFixScript.txt.
  5. Drag the file SFCFixScript.txt onto the file SFCFix.exe and release it.
  6. SFCFix will now process the script.
  7. Upon completion, a log should be created on your Desktop: SFCFix.txt.
  8. Copy (Ctrl+C) and Paste (Ctrl+V) the contents of this into your next post for me to analyse please - put [CODE][/CODE] tags around the log to break up the text.

Hi zcomputerwiz!

Thank you for your help. So, I tried to do as instructed, but the first time I ran the fix script in the sfcfix programme the log I received said that no threads exist. The second time I chose the option that I am currently being advised I got an empty log but apparently something was uploaded to the forum.

I apologise if I made a very basic misstep somewhere. Can you work with the logfile that was uploaded here?

But just in case, this is the log that was created on my desktop:

Step 1 - Replace Components Hive Manually

Warning: this fix is specific to the user in this thread. No one else should follow these instructions as it may cause more harm than good. If you are after assistance, please start a thread of your own.

  1. Download COMPONENTS.ZIP and save to your desktop.
  2. Right-click on it and select Extract all.... Make sure the "Show extracted files when complete" is checked and click Extract.
  3. Now we have the COMPONENTS file that we will be using to replace your current one.
  4. Navigate to C:\Windows\System32\config
  5. Right-click on the current COMPONENTS file and select rename. Rename it to COMPONENTS.bad.
Note: If you get an error that the file is in use, reboot your computer and then try again.
  6. Take the file from the Components folder on your desktop and paste it into C:\Windows\System32\config

COMPONENTS.ZIP

Step 2 - DISM /RestoreHealth Scan

button and select Command Prompt (Admin)
  2. When command prompt opens, Copy (Ctrl+C) and Paste (Right-click > Paste) the following command into it, then press Enter

    Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

  3. When DISM finishes scanning your component store, zip up and attach your CBS log to your next post:

    C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log

Oh well, I tried upgrading to Windows 10 using the Media Creation Tool. Everything went well in the beginning but the configuration failed anyway with the explanation "Something happened" (and nothing else). So, I tried to install the update KB2919355 and the configuration failed again. Where should I go from here (if anywhere)?

Thanks.

Please zip and attach C:\$Windows.~bt\Sources\Panther\SetupAct.log and SetupErr.log

I think this is the problem:
Code:
2015-08-25 18:43:11, Error SP Failed to get driver packages from the online system. Error: 0x800703F1[gle=0x0000007a]

Copy the file C:\Windows\System32\Config\DRIVERS to your desktop, then zip and upload it to a filesharing service such as OneDrive, DropBox, SendSpace, etc. and include the link with your reply.
