Hey guys, so first off I've got two problems. One is with my computer and the other is with my mom's computer. I'm not sure which forum to post in so if this is the wrong one please direct me where to go.

1. A few weeks ago my mom's computer crashed. Essentially when you turn it on it finds an error and attempts to use windows automatic error fixer, but it fails. No matter what you do, you cannot access windows itself. I've tried every option it gives me, but cannot get anywhere. When I go to the BIOS/Setup Utility I need an admin password to change the boot order and other options except no one knows the admin password. After you've entered the wrong admin password 3 times it comes up with an error saying to contact dell to recover the password with the error code above... except there's no error code. And that's where I'm at. I can't access windows, and I can't access BIOS.

2. A couple of days ago, after a BSOD I got a SMART Hard Disk error. I've run the system hardware checks and it tells me to use the SFC to check for corrupt files. It finds some, but can't repair them. I know this error is not a good one to have, and yet after several days it has not gotten any worse (nor better).

I know I'm missing much information for you guys, but I need to go somewhere soon and so I'm typing this in a rush. Please let me know if there's anything that you can do and if there's anything you guys need to know. Thanks!

Hi jassemerks,

First, welcome to Sysnative forums!

Regarding your first issue. Unfortunately, we will not be able to help you if you cannot access Windows. This is because there's a policy in place regarding theft, from our position we cannot tell whether you or someone you know really is the owner and if we were to assist in similar situations in the past we could've ended up helping criminals enter stolen computers. Therefore we do not help in any way to circumvent passwords to get access to a pc. I suggest you contact Dell and explain to them the situation.

Regarding the second issue, please follow Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) Posting Instructions - Windows 10, 8.1, 8, 7 + Vista to provide us with details and information needed to assist.
You may also want to follow Windows Update Forum Posting Instructions for your SFC issues.
