If you have been itching to update your Twitter profile so you can use the new design but have been unable to do so, that will change on Wednesday. The company announced today that the individual profile page redesign,
which started rolling out in September, will go live for Twitter users worldwide on December 12.
As we have reported before, these new user profile designs allow Twitter subscribers to not only update their account with a new personal profile image but also with a new header image similar to Facebook covers. Both the new profile and header images can be seen on the PC as well as mobile devices. Users can still upload a large background image on their account that can be seen on the web version.
Twitter's blog points out, "If you don’t upload a header photo by (Wednesday), you (and everyone else) will only see a default grey image on your page. That’s not fun!" The company recently released a goofy animated video that shows how to upload the new profile images to a Twitter page.
