Trouble getting access to websites

Hi! Ive got a wireless issue on my home network.
Im using the norwegian ISP - "Get" - which is a daughter company of the danish TDC.

https://www.get.no/about/about/about-get/who-we-are

Im using a DSL broadband connection.
My router is a Belkin N450 wireless N router - model number: F9K1105v1
Im running the standard windows firewall, and my anti virus is Malwarebytes Anti-Malware

---------------------

The problem is that i only get access to some websites. I have no idea why this is, and ive tried everything from resetting my router to factory settings to flushing dns, update firmware etc.
I am certain that the problem lies with the connection/router, because i have no trouble using the web as normal when i share my phone network.

As you can see in Xirrus, im currently connected to the "belkin.d86 5GHz", my standard connection is "belkin.d86" but after i restored my router to factory settings i cant connect to this network anymore.
Also when i try to see my router settings via IP address in my browser it just says "page cant be found". This also happened after i restored my router.

I hope you can help :)

MBAM is normally run with another anti-malware solution. I run MBAM on all my systems with Windows 10 Windows Defender. I did the same when running W8. And with W7, I used Microsoft Security Essentials (MSE) with MBAM.

What happens if you connect your computer directly to your router via Ethernet?

Hi jansson. :smile9:
What browser are you using?
Did you modify the HOSTS file?
Did you set any different DNSs from your default gateway?
Are you using peerguardian/peerblock or similar software?

Hi! Thanks for coming back to me. I use the same setup as you do with MBAM along with Windows 10 Defender.
If i connect the computer directly to the ethernet - nothing happens. No signal.

Im currently using Chrome as my default browser.
I havent touched my HOSTS file, and i tried to manually set my DNS, but it didnt work, so i turned it back to automatic.
And im not familiar with the peerguardian/block or anything like that.

I forgot to mention earlier that this is a problem with my router/network/modem, as the same problem occurs with other devices aswell. Not only this computer.

Thanks for coming back to me :)

Yeah, that is a critical detail that changes everything!

You need to contact your ISP. But first, since this is what they will have you do anyway, you need to reset your network. Unplug everything from the wall (this is important!) - your modem, your router and all your computers. For battery operated wireless devices, turn them off too.

Then plug in your modem and wait for the lights to settle down. Then your router and again, wait for the lights to settle down. Then connect a computer directly to the router via Ethernet, plug the computer's power cable into the wall and boot. If you don't get the Internet, contact your ISP.

Before contacting your ISP you could try connecting to the host through a proxy. Unless they block the specified proxy server and assuming you can connect to the website, then you know you are being firewalled in some way. Note however that this may not mean that your ISP is the culprit; some websites block full IP ranges for a variety of reasons. If you are sure that your computer firewall is completely bypassed, and there's nothing in your router's settings that would stop traffic to/from the destination, checking in with your ISP is not a bad idea.
