For the past many months the computer has failed numerous times to install these two updates: KB4049411 and KB4033631. If simply search for updates, it searches for about 30 minutes and errors off with error code 0x800705b4. If I let the Win 10 Update Assistant do the update, it runs 4+ hours, reaches 92%, and then errors off with error code 0x8007001f.

I ran Upgrade Troubleshooter; it found/fixed 4 errors. I ran Chkdsk and Event Viewer showed that it corrected errors in Bitmap and made corrections to the file system; no bad sectors.

I tried to run sfc /scannow, but got message that "a system repair was pending". I then tried to run dism to reversependingactions and got an error 87.

I then ran your SFCFix and it completed successfully after about 25 minutes. All counts were 0 in the summary.

I still can't run sfc /scan now, and I still can't upgrade Win 10. So here I am asking for help. Thanks in advance...

Hello and welcome to Sysnative! Sorry about the delay! We do get a lot of threads here and sometimes miss a few.

Retrieve Components Hive
1. Navigate to C:\Windows\System32\Config and locate the COMPONENTS file.
2. Please copy this file to your desktop.
Note: If you receive an error that this file is in-use, simply reboot your computer and try again.
3. Right-click on this file on your desktop and select Send To...Compressed (zipped) folder. This will create a file named COMPONENTS.ZIP on your desktop.
4. The file will likely be too large to upload here so please upload toa file sharing service and just provide the link here.
