Took for ever to update Wins 7... also System Restore not working...

Hi...

It took forever to update Wins 7-64 for June updates. Had to wait a very long time over 1 1/2 hour. Also had problems using System Restore. It would not restore.

Follow the instructions below to run a scan with the System Update Readiness Tool (SURT) and provide a log;

After running the fix what came up was that something went wrong. It asked if I want to send a report to developer.

Sorry for the delay George. The developer is aware of the issue and working on a fix, but I'll prepare another fix tonight using another tool to replace the files, so you won't have to keep on waiting :)

Alright, this is going to be a little technical, but let's see how it turns out. First, I want you to download this ReplacementFiles.zip archive and save it on your desktop. Now, you're going to right-click on it, select Extract... and make sure the destination path is the one below:

Looks like the fix failed. Did you check in the ReplacementFiles folder to make sure the other three folders are there? The file structure should look like this.

From there, enter this command.

A file called dir.txt will appear on your desktop. Open it, and copy/paste its content here.

Am I doing it right? Open Command Prompt as administrator... then... First this : cd C:\ReplacementFiles and right after this : dir /s > "%userprofile%\Desktop\dir.txt". After each one do I click enter or what? Please be more specific.......

That's the problem, the ReplacementFiles doesn't exit. When you right-click on the ReplacementFiles.zip I give you and select Extract, under the destination path, you need to enter C:\ReplacementFiles. In the end, it'll look like this (once extracted).
