TOLD TO JUMP OVER HERE from BSOD forum

Most recent DISM and scannows (same as in post #29 in BSOD thread)
Lenova indicated all drivers are up to date.
I am currently running Lenova Y510P diagnostics (I've lost SC Card drive and one USB port.... will try rebooting when Lenova scan finished)

So the SD card reader is a Genesis, which has worked fine for 5 years? now. Tryinig to update the driver, I encounter this error

OK, so the cab file for the Genesys card reader was downloaded from Microsoft site, but where does the cab file go? or what file within it do I select as the driver.... sorry, I try to update the driver and scroll to the cab file......
it downloaded to user/me/appdata/temp..... and I also copied it to C:\windows\System32\drivers\Genesis Card Reader.... but it doesn't install. Help!

Ok, now I have no idea what I did.... I ran Lenova Service Bridge, and a few other things, and this morning when I booted up, I noted the card reader was reading again.... so I went in and looked at the driver... and now there's a different list of drivers appearing, with the "disk.sys" the one in use (that did not appear in the previous list of available drivers) I also noticed my start-up services were a bit different (partly for running Windows Defender), but all the programs I had previously disabled were enabled again... I did partially run the DriverPack Solutions.... but did not complete it. Maybe that did it? Anyway, I now hve my card reader and USB port back. Somehow Opera was installed (I use to have it, but removed it a few months ago)

Now the remaining issue seems to be this error message on start-up:

OK, I uninstalled it from Programs. I no longer have BSOD, I have my SC card reader and USB port showing up again. But windows is running really slow.

I'm going to run Windows Defender overnight. Then check back tomorrow and see if you have any suggestions what I should try next.
