[SOLVED] The windows update issue with KB3000850

I am seeing that a lot of people here are having this issue, but yet somehow everyone's is still different.

I am new to forums and this problem.

What must I do to fix the problem where the 700 some odd meg Windows update won't ever load.

Please bear with me, but I do follow instructions well...

Would someone help me please?

Where do I start?

Item #1 of your two options solved the problem and finally let me finish the colossal Windows Update that was broken. It seemed to take a few tries (could have been my fault.) I also ended up thinking that momentarily disabling my Windows Firewall helped it go through. Again thank you very much.
I am sure glad that I found this site. I have bookmarked it and will be returning regularly. A lot of good information and resources here.

So consider this one solved.
