Hello everyone! I have been debugging these hard freezes and crashes for almost a year. I've been working on it myself since November, last year, and have been receiving help at Tom's Hardware, and have also had the PC (a prebuilt from CyberPowerPC) RMA'd twice, with no end in sight.

Firstly, I'd like to say, please take a look at the thread on Tom's Hardware here: Question - Have Been Having Lots of BSODs and Hard Freezes on a New Computer, Finally Narrowed It Down, Need Help Solving It

That has a collection of a TON of minidump files, as well as a collection of a lot of tests I've done, parts that have been replaced, and whatever else has been attempted. I will not upload a bunch of new minidumps here until I have new ones to upload, as they are all linked there, usually dropbox links, and gardenman has been nice enough to run a lot of them through an analyzer.

Now, for the required info:

  • A brief description of your problem (but you can also include the steps you tried) See thread on Tom's Hardware
  • System Manufacturer? CyberPowerPC
  • Laptop or Desktop? Desktop
  • Exact model number (if laptop, check label on bottom) Gaming Instant Ship GXL 99098 <-- Custom PSU now in
  • OS ? (Windows 10, 8.1, 8, 7, Vista) Windows 10
  • x86 (32bit) or x64 (64bit)? 64 bit
  • What was original installed OS on system? Windows 10
  • Is the OS an OEM version (came pre-installed on system) or full retail version (YOU purchased it from retailer)? OEM I'd assume, was installed for me
  • Age of system? (hardware) Less than a year
  • Age of OS installation? Depends on your definition. I made a clone of my drives using Macrium Reflect, and restore them after sending the PC off for RMAs. I've also tried new, fresh installs. A few months, with gaps in between.
  • Have you re-installed the OS? Yes, but I usually restore back once the problem isn't fixed
  • CPU 10850k
  • RAM (brand, EXACT model, what slots are you using?)

    ChannelB-DIMM2 TEAMGROUP-UD4-3200
  • Video Card EVGA - GeForce RTX 3090 XC3
  • MotherBoard - (if NOT a laptop) ASUS PRIME Z490-V ATX
  • Power Supply - brand & wattage (if laptop, skip this one) Seasonic Flagship Prime Series SSR-1000PD 1000W Platinum Full Modular ATX12V & EPS12V 135mm FDB Fan Super Quiet Power Supply
  • Is driver verifier enabled or disabled? Disabled, I've run through the process, and removed drivers, like razer drivers, that cause issues, but even after going through that, my crashes continue, so I just re-added removed drivers I use
  • What security software are you using? (Firewall, antivirus, antimalware, antispyware, and so forth) Windows Defender. I've run malwarebytes, but I uninstalled it for some reason a while ago.
  • Are you using proxy, vpn, ipfilters or similar software? I have Private Internet Access I use rarely, not on 24/7 or anything
  • Are you using Disk Image tools? (like daemon tools, alcohol 52% or 120%, virtual CloneDrive, roxio software) Nope
  • Are you currently under/overclocking? Are there overclocking software installed on your system? None, unless it came with included software

Welp, the time limit to edit has passed. I figured I'd post this here as well so its easy to see, in case its not obvious in the thread on Tom's Hardware:

As of now, every part in the PC has been replaced except the secondary hard drive, the included WiFi card (I have never even connected to WiFi, but it could be relevant), and the CPU. Well, and, like, the case and cooling stuff, like fans and the AIO cooler. Temps have seemed fine.

Sorry about that! I am not using a UPS, just an expensive surge protector. My old PC ran from the same location with no issues (a custom built with a 4790k and a 1080), if it matters.

As for the thread on BC, I was suggested on TH to post to a couple new places because we've started to exhaust a lot of the ideas we could come up with. I'm new to both Sysnative and BC, but if there is a problem with posting on both I apologize. At this point, it feels like the best I can hope for is some wild theories I test for to see what stick, and if I get conflicting advice, I can test both and see what works better, if anything.

@KingKj52 ,
No need for apology,
We welcome you to Sysnative and appreciate your wanting to get your issues fixed. That being said, it gets confusing for all parties when there are multiple posts across the internet.

We take the time to research some fix, post it, only to find out you've already completed it at BC.

I read through your thread at Tom's and you/they have covered everything. You've replaced (RMA'd) the PC twice in which CyberPowerPC replaced the mobo and SSD as well. Re-installed Windows, Tested RAM, tested SDD, replaced the PSU.

I haven't looked but maybe send it back to CyberPowerPC again and pay a bit more (or less) for a different model?

Over the last 9 years, I have bought roughly 11 PCs from them(CPPC) including my last 2 gaming rigs, workstations, and laptops at work. I only had to RMA one workstation as it simply would not turn on.

I have not experienced any of these issues with any of the units.

Unfortunately, they won't accept it back now that I've replaced the PSU with a custom unit, and the old one is gone (repair shop never gave it back to me..)

I had tried to get in contact with them since I bought it, but apparently they were having issues getting emails from Yahoo accounts, so they never received any of my emails for almost a year, and as such, I've missed my refund period and they won't do a refund/replace. They wouldn't even upgrade the PSU with a unit they owned, even when I offered to pay extra/the difference, because "we can't do upgrades, only replace with the same model".

Honestly, it just feels like I have put in a lot of money (and now even more) as well as a bunch of time, hours a day for almost a year, trying to fix an unsolvable problem.

I appreciate the info, though. Good to know its not consistent with their builds, I just hit the unlucky one.

How is the main power source? The wall connection? Have it tested by an electrician.
As a Computer Engineer myself, I can test some things, so maybe its something I can do.. What exactly are you looking for? What actual voltage is coming from the socket, or something else a multimeter can check, or is there something much more complicated I'd need professional tools to check?
