Hey,

I had a problem with the GPU Driver (Nvidia RTX 2060 Super) which wasn't updating. I uninstalled the existing driver to install the updated ones.

However, now it's not updating at all and after many tries to fix the system I ended up with error 0x800703f1 through Windows Update.

and "The configuration registry database is corrupt" every time when I try to update the GPU driver via the Device Manager.

Probably the Drivers Hive is corrupted.

Specs:
Intel Core I7 9700K
ASUS Z370 - Pro Gaming TUF Motherboard
PNY Nvidia RTX 2060 Super
Windows 10 64 Bit on earlier release not 1903

Attaching the CBS and Drivers file which might help.

Thanks in advance

Hi!

Step 1 - Replace Drivers Hive Manually

Warning: this fix is specific to the user in this thread. No one else should follow these instructions as it may cause more harm than good. If you are after assistance, please start a thread of your own.

  1. Download DRIVERS.ZIP and save to your desktop.
  2. Right-click on it and select Extract all.... Make sure the "Show extracted files when complete" is checked and click Extract.
  3. Now we have the DRIVERS file that we will be using to replace your current one.
  4. Navigate to C:\Windows\System32\config
  5. Right-click on the current DRIVERS file and select rename. Rename it to DRIVERS.bad.
Note: If you get an error that the file is in use, reboot your computer and then try again.
  6. Take the file from the Drivers folder on your desktop and paste it into C:\Windows\System32\config

Thank you so much for your support. now the drivers are working.

I have another problem now that came up after trying to update to Version 1909 and KB4556779, it will throw back an error code 0x80070003 after restart to update (it will stuck at 6% and then restart, after it starts it says that the update will be reverted and it cannot proceed). currently the update is 1903.

Thank you in advance.
