There is good news and bad news about the Windows 10 release on July 29. The good news is that you will have an entire year to upgrade your Windows 7 or Windows 8.1 system for free. The bad news is you should probably wait until the last minute to make the upgrade because of numerous problems everyone has found with Windows 10.
Microsoft has become very cavalier about many of the issues people have with its desktop strategies. It wouldn't be so bad if the difficulties were not so obvious and seemingly mundane to fix. The banality is as representative of the new regime at Microsoft; they're laid back in such a way that they cannot be bothered with doing anything with urgency. That "strategy" probably serves a bigger purpose.

I see no urgency to upgrade to Windows 10, I probably will leave it until the last minute.
The other problem, as well as bugs, is that there will be a lack of compatibility, especially for devices in the early days.
