That's parallel parking assist. There are a few cars that do that. But the BMW parks (and exits) your garage or skinning parking places. Nice but not sure I like so much being able to be done without a key. And I note the key fob is pretty big too. Not sure I like that either - especially if you have more than one car with key fobs already on your keychain.

I guess we need a microchip implanted in our arms, or the back of the neck like my dog!

I'm sure car companies "borrow" technology from each other.

Remember when Ford stole Robert Kearns' intermittent wiper patent? Chrysler was in on it too and both paid $10s Millions in patent infringement cases. GM got away.

There was a movie made about it.

That's where clever patent lawyers come in to ensure on one side, the description prevents such "borrowing". And on the other side, to uncover loopholes in the description that allow it.
