I came here via Bleeping Computer and the Tech Cookbook to resolve what now appears to be a mega-problem (sfc /scannow CBS log is 226MB) perhaps caused by Microsoft Update KB3022345.

Had it not been for that update I might never have found you and these other two and what's brilliant as far as a rookie like me is concerned is that one of the common mantras running through all three forums is

Never be afraid to ask!

In fact, one member has a signature on the lines of "There's nothing wrong in asking a stupid question - what IS stupid is being too scared** to ask it."
Brilliant!

It seems that I came here many years ago, with a similar ID, a different email address and on my old faithful XP tower. It was pre-Norton ID Safe/Vault so I'd forgotten. Thank you Will Watts for sorting me out when I messed up my registration!! Much appreciated.

So, once again, many thanks to all those who give up their time to help rookies like me in their time of need. Much appreciated!! :thumbsup2:
