[SOLVED] Task Manager - Bad Image

Hello,

When attempting to run task manager, I get the following error.



SFC and DISM both fail, attached is the latest dism.log. What should I try next?

• Doing a Windows 10 Repair Install or Feature Update Using the Windows 10 ISO file

And get a brand spankin' new download of the ISO before doing so. If you happen to have one for Version 1909 that you downloaded months ago, don't use it.

If that doesn't fix it, and you get SFC/DISM errors afterward, I would start a new topic in the Windows Update forum seeking advice there.

After following Brians advice and if you still have issues:

It's a component of Direct X. You can also try re-installing DX here: Download DirectX End-User Runtimes from Official Microsoft Download Center

You can also try re- registering the dll.
Open and elevated command prompt, Hit start, type cmd, then hit Ctrl + Shift + Enter, the prompt will open: in the prompt type regsvr32 d3d12.dll hit enter.

I find the Repair Install option of Windows 10 to be an absolute godsend, and it can wipe out a "multitude of issues" in one fell swoop, and with ease.
