I encountered this issue during general computer maintenance.
My System File Checker failed and I researched thru many Microsoft Community forums and finally found yours with several intelligent professionals that could actually understand the cbs and dism logs.

Could you assist me as well?

SfcFIX

I found this tool on your Windows Update Forum Posting Instructions.

Please accept the attached document. View attachment SFCFix.txt

System File Checker

This was produced after running SFC.

Code:
 sfc /scannow

Beginning system scan. This process will take some time.

Beginning verification phase of system scan.
Verification 100% complete.

Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them. Details are included in the CBS.log

Please see my attached CBS.log file.

Any assistance you can provide would be greatly appreciated!

During comparison of my SfcFix.txt with some of your other members, I noticed the following:

"FIXED: Performed DISM repair on file Amd64\CNBJ2530.DPB of version 6.3.9600.17415."

I do not own an Amd64 processor. It is an Intel i3.

After completion of the SfcFix repair I attempted to run dism again and received the same error.

SfcFIX

I forgot to post the results of the SfcFix.exe in the post.

Just to let you know,
I have run SfcFIX.exe 3 times now and each time the results display the same results.

Code:
 AutoAnalysis::
FIXED: Performed DISM repair on file Amd64\CNBJ2530.DPB of version 6.3.9600.17415.

I have read thru the following thread; [h=1]"Thread: GUIDE: CNBJ2530.DPB and prncacla.inf Corruptions - Windows 8/8.1"[/h]at this point, I am confused.

After re-reading thru the "Windows Update Forum Posting Instructions", I found that you require the entire CBS folder.

I only provided the log file.

After returning to the CBS folder I found that it contains multiple files "CbsPersist".

Please accept the attached CBS compressed folder file. View attachment 11013

Thank you again for your time.

Hello and welcome to the forum :)

Sorry for the delay. This should fix the files once and for all.

SFCFix Script

Warning: this fix is specific to the user in this thread. No one else should follow these instructions as it may cause more harm than good. If you are after assistance, please start a thread of your own.

  1. Download SFCFix.exe (by niemiro) and save this to your Desktop.
  2. Download SFCFix.zip, and save this to your Desktop. Ensure that this file is named SFCFix.zip - do not rename it.
  3. Save any open documents and close all open windows.
  4. On your Desktop, you should see two files: SFCFix.exe and SFCFix.zip.
  5. Drag the file SFCFix.zip onto the file SFCFix.exe and release it.
  6. SFCFix will now process the script.
  7. Upon completion, a file should be created on your Desktop: SFCFix.txt.
  8. Copy (Ctrl+C) and Paste (Ctrl+V) the contents of this file into your next post for me to analyse please - put [CODE][/CODE] tags around the log to break up the text.

SFC /SCANNOW
  1. Right click on the

    Code:

Just a stupid question?
In your experience, what might have caused this permission/ownership of the file to be lost.
No torrentz or usenet are utilized on this computer and I have just COMPLETED NEW Installation of Windows 8 just weeks ago - I am a little concerned.

Any words of wisdom?

Thank you again for your assistance.
There is no way I could have accomplished that on my own.
David

Hello David.

CBS log looks good, there are no more errors to be concerned about :)

In your experience, what might have caused this permission/ownership of the file to be lost.

The file itself didn't actually lose permissions, it was corrupt. The file which I sent you had a version of this file that was not corrupt. I think you may be referring to the results inside the SFCFix.txt file? When I sent you the non corrupt version SFCFix had to take ownership and permissions of the corrupt version this allows SFCFix to replace the corrupt version with the non corrupt version.
