Info about my system
Windows 7 ultimate

x64
I would like to update to windows 10, but Windows 7 won't update. When i go to windows update this is the message I receive(first link):
"restart your computer to install important updates Windows can't update important files and services while the system is using them. Save any open files and restart the computer, then try to check for new updates. Restart now"
When I restart nothing changes, I also can't click on check for updates(second link).
I tried deleting the "reboot required" key from the registry, but this changed nothing.
I think it's also worth noting that up until now i have been trying to prevent windows 10 from self updating by hiding updates and removing the get windows 10 now app. I tried to recover hidden updates but there is nothing in the list when i go to recover them.
I really don't know where to go from here.
If anyone has had this problem I would really appreciate some guidance.
