I have had this happen a couple of times. Each time I have scrubbed the internet for solutions. All of which seem to insist a refresh, reinstall or create a new profile and delete the old one... Which, as most of the solutions stated, would initially resolve the issue, but it will more than likely come back. It has started the same way every time. First the windows store icon goes invisible on the task bar however it's placement placard is still there. You can right click for options menu, but left clicking makes the PC think for a bit, then nothing. Then this happens to the edge icon and shortly after moves on to affect the start button. What makes it particularly strange is the offending file appears to be a dll (opencl.dll) used by the system for my graphics card yet it only affects 1 account at a time, until it eventually corrupts all accounts. any assistance resolving this would be appreciated. I will attach my sfc log and my sfc fix logs.

Sorry... Sooooo not a bump, but I can't seem to find an edit button to add this information.

I see I forgot to explain "other odd behaviours". These would be things such as live tiles not working in other accounts whose start button works and when under heavy load the pc crashes with an "oops" screen.... I'm guessing that is win10 BSOD? Dunno.

As far as what I have tried:

Several online tutorials:

that last one.... had to find the link he was talking about on the page... regardless updating didn't work :-)

Hi Ubarstool ... and welcome to the forums ...

There is a thread here at SysNative concerning corruption for the opencl.dll file - which can be caused by an nVidia driver install overwriting it with a different version. Here's the link to that:
https://www.sysnative.com/forums/wi...10-update-1511-th2-post140472.html#post140472

You'll notice in that post that a fix-it app called SFCfix is available for you to try.

See if you can make sure that Windows 10 will show you a STOP error screen (often called the "Blue Screen of Death", BSOD, or simply "blue screen") by checking a setting:
1) If your right-click menu on Start is still working, right-click Start, and select System.
2) Select Advanced System Settings
3) In the Advanced tab, in the Startup and Recovery section, select Settings
4) In the System Failure section, remove the checkmark from the option box "Automatically Restart"
5) And select OK.

If you should happen to see more blue screen errors, even after trying the SFCfix quick-fix tool, I'd recommend opening a new thread in the BSOD forum, where the techs most experienced in diagnosing those errors will help track down the source of the trouble. They go through a fair bit of training in order to help folks better!
