OK, new to this site and maybe I'm not the quickest but, can somebody PLEASE tell me where the "new topic" button is so I can try and use my 1 month old shiny new lap top that won't do dittley with WIN 8.1 every time I shut it off and restart it? I've done the start from new BS twice and just don't know why I should have to do that once a week. God I miss XP! KISS works.

Welcome to Sysnative!

The "Post New Thread" button is at the top left of the page, underneath the main header and navigation bar. It's a blue, rectangular button.

Stephen

Stephen, I must have a different window because there is no such button. At least not with the label "post new thread", closest thing is "what's new" or "new posts" (below boxes). Larry.

Broken Windows update / SFC - HELP PLS!!!

+ Reply to Thread is all I get. I want to ask a different question. I have to run recover every time the Windows update runs or I lose programs and apps (like change PC settings). I turned off the updates for now, but I was forced to give up my XP system, which I loved for 10 years, for this "new and better" 8.1 crap. Please keep in mind I'm 58 yoa and don't know tech-talk even though I've used computers since the DOS days!

Tell me again, this is easier than XP in what way? Not everybody out there is a programmer.
