Hi,

I split your post into its own thread.

I need your CBS folder to get a full handle on the situation, along with another tools logs. However, I will warn you that this is probably unfixable by hand and will probably require a repair install. 17,000+ errors isn't a feasible fix. However, let's see what a different tools says.

Run the System Update Readiness Tool (SURT)

  1. Download the System Update Readiness Tool from Microsoft --> here <-- Please save the tool to a convenient location as it may be necessary to run it again.
  2. After the download has completed, double-click the file and wait while it initializes.
  3. Click Yes to begin installation. Please note it may take some time to complete and may appear to stall whilst installing. Don't worry, this is perfectly normal behaviour. Also note, whilst I say "installing", it's actually running the tool and can therefore be "installed" (run) repeatedly.

Export CBS folder

  1. Click the Start button :startorb: then click Computer.
  2. Double-click on the C: drive, under the Hard Disk Drives category, and then scroll down to, and double click on the Windows folder.
  3. Find and double click on the Logs folder.
  4. Right-click on the CBS folder, and select Copy.
  5. Go back to your Desktop, right-click on it, and select Paste. You should now see a copy of the CBS folder appear on your Desktop called CBS.
  6. Right-click on this new folder, and navigate through Send to, and select Compressed (zipped) folder.
  7. A new file, also called CBS (CBS.zip), but this time with a different icon, will be created.
  8. Attach this new file to your next post.

Hello Stephen,Thank you for splitting the threads,I searched to put my own thread but did not see how to until hours later. Here "WAS" the info for the earlier Thread i was going to start.Hp pc-Windows 7x64 Home Premium NO SP1(will not install-of course).Windows update will not check for updates(Error code 80073712),Sfc Scannow fails(Window Resource Protection could not perform the request operation),Dism command Error:3(Windows does not appear to be a valid windows directory) and Error:87(The online/cleanup-image/scanhealth is unknown)Update history shows no updates installed on this computer(Never).Missing & Corrupt files(I had several viruses and a hacker or two that pretty much changed, hid and took control over my files blocking me from any access which unknowing lead me to delete important files.I tried everything I could think of to fix or replace files except Inplace Upgrade as Microsoft and other sites have suggested(Hp came without Windows 7 Disk).I Finally got my Windows Firewall back up and running Saturday(off for two years) after installing a program from Tweaking.com All in one Windows Repair,But it did not repair or solve any other problems with Windows Update or ETC....Any Help will be Greatly Appreciated,Thank you.View attachment 6737

Hi again,As I stated that "WAS"an earlier Thread i was going to post.I Have no Idea what happen but some how my computer started INSTALLING Updates(I always kept setting for everyday 4:00pm)Never Ever Updated before.A couple hours ago I noticed a little orange color exclamation mark to install updates and then shut down computer.I thought nothing of it,but I was hoping it wasn't another virus trying to creep in or malicious software trying to install itself.Anyway here's my good news(well better than before)Updates actually started installing at 4:00-4:16pm,I couldnt believe my eyes so i checked the Update History, then double checked, then checked again, and again:r1: sure enough i have some updates installed.

I then decided to run the SFCFIX again, after having 17288 detected corruption on the last log i figured there wasnt going to be much of a change in the numbers. To my surprise the CBS & SFC detected corruption changed to 3503.View attachment SFCFix.txt

SO TELL ME BUDDY IS IT A SLIGHT CHANCE OF ME SEEING A RAINBOW AT THE END OF THIS ROAD:noidea:
LOL-THANKS AGAIN FOR YOUR HELP AND RESPONDING TO MY FIRST UNSPLIT THREAD.
