Sony has discussed the topic of cloud gaming and, while it has declined to say if it’s actually going to acquire one of the leaders in the field – Gaikai –, it has stated that, through one form or another, cloud gaming will be the future of the industry.
Slowly but surely, gaming is changing and, while there are still plenty of people who get physical discs from stores, some are now turning to digital distribution across many platforms.
What’s more, some companies are taking things much further, as OnLive and Gaikai are offering cloud gaming experiences in which people can just pay for a game and then play it anywhere they want, from a PC or Mac to dedicated micro-consoles or even tablets.
