Hi Barindervicky89 :welcome: to Sysnative forum.

Please execute the following and provide the log...

System Update Readiness Tool (SUR)
  • Download the System Update Readiness Tool (x64) and save it to some place, its a big download and eventually we need to run it several times, please keep the file
  • Run the tool. Its like an Update but it can take a long time to do the work. You will get an Installation Complete screen when it's done running
  • Please attach to your post the log from the following location: C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CheckSUR.log
    Note:
If the file is too big please Zip it and upload the ZIP file to a service like Dropbox, Google Drive, One Drive or upload to SendSpace and just provide the link for the file here.

Yea, strange. The checksur.log log not present in location: C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\. I have ran system readiness tool again. i will update you when it will complete.

Thanks.

Hi,

The file seems corrupt!

Please look for the log C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CheckSUR.log copy the file to the Desktop and then zip it, attach the zip file to your post it should be small, I don't need the full CBS folder.

Hi,

Strange indeed! Did you wait until the message "Installation Complete"?

At least now we have part of the log! it doesn't seems complete because near the end of the log there is usually a "Summary:" part that is missing in your case.

There is plenty of errors to work on I will post a fix for you latter.

Thanks for the reply ,SleepyDude. Yea. I had waited for until the massage "installation complete" and it took approx time 1hour and 30 minute.
i will wait your post .

Hi,

The log show a very big number of files corrupted/missing! did the machine have some memory or disk problems?

Due to the big number of files that I need to source will take me some time to create a fix for you...

Also I need to collect more information from the system. Please execute the following:

Retrieve the Components Hive
  1. Navigate to C:\Windows\System32\Config and locate the COMPONENTS file
  2. Please copy the COMPONENTS file to your desktop
Note: If you receive an error that this file is in-use, simply reboot your computer and try again
  3. Right-click on this file on your Desktop and select Send To...Compressed (zipped) folder. This will create a file named COMPONENTS.ZIP on your Desktop
  4. If file will is too large to upload to the forum please share the file using a service like Dropbox, OneDrive, Google Drive, or upload to www.sendspace.com and just provide the link for the file here

Hi ,

It have not any kind of memory or disk problems. it have 4 Gb memory and using only 40 to 60 % only and 376 Gb free space .

i have attached a component zip file.please have a look at this. There are two files in components zip folder with named components and componentsold. Earlier i had renamed components file while troubleshooting. So i am sending you both the file new one and old one. i have renamed this on 20 jun 2018.

Thanks.

Why did you rename the file? Did you do any change to it?

This file is critical for Windows to know about the installed updates...

i have only renamed it. i have not made changes in this file. i was read artical somewhere, that rename this file then tried to update the window. Due to this, problem solved on few machines (Window 10 OS ) . thats why i tried to renamed this file.

Hi,

By any chance did you do any change to the Winsxs folder or c:\Windows\winsxs\Manifests??

Hi,

This doesn't look good the SURT log show that you have more than 8600 files corrupted or missing!

Several files reported as missing belongs to Windows Updates no longer available at the Microsoft servers, they removed them due to some problems created by those updates...

Do you have the Windows 7 install DVD to do a Repair Install?

Hi,

I can not repair install because I access this machine remotely. I can go on site.

I think you should do that. The following guide is good about doing a Repair Install:
Repair Install - Windows 7 Help Forums

Before the instalation I highly recommend that you remove any Antivirus and/or other security software installed on the machine.
