I have been trying for over 5 days to upgrade to Windows 10. The upgrade would "hang" at 88% overall complete. I ran "sfc /scannow" (attached scan results) and found numerous errors that could not be repaired. Next I tried a series of DSIM commands, that I found on another forum (one of the many Microsoft forums) that were supposed to correct the problem. They didn't. The DSIM command that I had hoped would work was:

DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth /source:C:\wimtime\Install.wim:1 /LimitAccess

(I have a Install.wim file in the c:\wimtime folder that I converted from a Install.esd file.)

It would run for a long time and then fail with the message it could not find the source file. Between each of the DSIM command runs, I rebooted the computer to clear any leftover Flags. Next I went to "The Tech Cookbook" web page, ran their program, and I'm following their instructions. I'm 79+ and not real sure how I got here (do know why) so any help would be greatly appreciated. OH! A virus was found during all of this and I ran "Hitman Pro 3" and number of times, rebooting between each run. The last run showed a clean system. This was BEFORE following the Tech Cookbook instructions

With regards to the infection you had, it may be worthwhile creating a new thread in the security section too using these posting instructions - https://www.sysnative.com/forums/security-arena/2507-malware-removal-posting-instructions.html

I scanned my system with Hitman Pro 3.7.9 and it removed ALL viruses. Those that were not on their list, but that looked suspicious were quarantined so I could make a decision. Hitman Pro, unlike many antivirus programs, will run side by side with most antivirus software, including Windows Defender, McAfee, Bitdefender, etc. I'm willing to start a new thread in your security section, but was afraid it would sound too much like an advertisement for Hitman Pro. Please advise
