Hi,

I've been having issues running any updates, and I cannot get sfc or chkdsk to complete. I ran the SFCFix app, but it stops at 3.8% and says

Error: 1009

The configuration registry database is corrupt.

Attached is the SFCFix log file as well as my CBS.zip file

Thank you in advance!

Hi and welcome to Sysnative,

Download
61f7aba7309a1-ComponentsScanner_Icon.png
ComponentsScanner and save it to your desktop.
  • Right-click ComponentsScanner.exe and select "Run as administrator", click Yes on the UAC (User Account Control) prompt which appears.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions.
  • Once complete, a report will be saved to your desktop called ComponentsScanner.txt.
  • Post the logfile ComponentsScanner.txt as attachment in your next reply.

I ran the ComponentsScanner.exe and it was able to find a fix the problem. The attached log file is from the second time I ran the program to verify there werent' any other errors. I have been able to do everything I couldn't before. Thank you so much!

Hi,

Please post the first log as well, to take a look at. Did you have also uploaded the components hive to the Sysnative server?

Unfortunately, the first log was deleted. I tried to recover it, but had no luck. I did upload to the Sysnative server when prompted.

Hi,

  • Click the Start button and in the search box, type CMD
  • When you see Command Prompt on the list, right-click on it and select Run as administrator.
  • Copy and paste the following command into it, then press enter.
    Code:
    COPY %localappdata%\Sysnative\ComponentsScanner.log "%userprofile%\Desktop\ComponentsScannerLog.txt"
  • This command will create ComponentsScannerLog.txt on your Desktop. attach this file to your next post.

Hi,

Thanks! In the log of SFCFix, I saw that you are using Windows 10 2004 (19041.xxx). Were you able to install the latest feature update (21H2) after running the ComponentsScanner?

Yes, I was! That was one of the updates I couldn't get to complete until I ran the ComponentsScanner.

Great, you can run the system file checker, to check there are no further problems.

  • Click the Start button and in the search box, type Command Prompt
  • When you see Command Prompt on the list, right-click on it and select Run as administrator.
  • When command prompt opens, copy and paste the following command into it, and press enter.
    Code:
    sfc /scannow
  • Take a screenshot of the commandprompt window and paste it into your next reply.

This looks good!
If there are no further issues, you can mark this thread as solved. (y)
