Hi,

I've a laptop Asus N53S with W7 64 and the error 800703F1 happens when I try to update to W10.

I bought this laptop 4 years ago and I still have another problem, hope this can be also solved together with the file corruption explained above.
If I restart the pc by reopening the tilted screen than sooner or later a blue screen will arrived. At the following Windows restart the mistake is described like a power management issue.

Hope that this 2 thing are connected, and to solve both with your help.

Thank You in advance
Kind regards

Andrea

Hi and welcome to Sysnative. Let's see what we can do. Please start with the following.

Step#1 - SFCFix Script
Warning: this fix is specific to the user in this thread. No one else should follow these instructions as it may cause more harm than good. If you are after assistance, please start a thread of your own.

  1. Download SFCFix.exe (by niemiro) and save this to your Desktop. If you still have this on your desktop from downloading previously, you don't need to re-download.
  2. Download the file below, SFCFix.zip, and save this to your Desktop. Ensure that this file is named SFCFix.zip - do not rename it.
  3. Save any open documents and close all open windows.
  4. On your Desktop, you should see two files: SFCFix.exe and SFCFix.zip.
  5. Drag the file SFCFix.zip onto the file SFCFix.exe and release it.
  6. SFCFix will now process the script.
  7. Upon completion, a file should be created on your Desktop: SFCFix.txt.
  8. Copy (Ctrl+C) and Paste (Ctrl+V) the contents of this file into your next post for me to analyse please

Step#2 - SFC Scan
  1. Click on the Start
    Start%20Orb.jpg
button and in the search box, type Command Prompt
  2. When you see Command Prompt on the list, right-click on it and select Run as administrator
  3. When command prompt opens, copy and paste the following commands into it, press enter after each

    sfc /scannow

Wait for this to finish before you continue

    copy %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log %userprofile%\Desktop\cbs.txt
  4. This will create a file, cbs.txt on your Desktop. Please attach this to your next post.

Please Note:: if the file is too big to upload to your next post please upload via a service such as Dropbox or One Drive or SendSpace and just provide the link.

Items for your next post

2. CBS.txt

Excellent. When you attempt your next upgrade to Windows 10 I suggest you do the following. It gives you the best chance of success.

1. Ensure that everything is unplugged from your computer except keyboard/mouse. No printers, scanners, etc.
2. Reboot your computer into a Clean Boot state by following the information at the following link.
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/929135

3. Download the Media Creation Tool and save to your desk. Run this Media Creation Tool and begin the upgrade.

Let me know how it goes.
