SFC /SCANNOW showed corrupt files it couldn't repair. Ran SFCFix which ID'd 1 file it couldn't fix.
Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit laptop. Many failed updates but many have succeeded. All failed updates relate to cumulative updates for Internet Explorer. All the rest of the security and other updates have installed successfully.
Since I don't use Internet explorer, this is not such a huge deal for me.
The Internet Explorer updates may be related to this:.
Ongoing problem is that 32bit internet pathways are somehow messed up so I must use 64bit browsers and antivirus...anything that uses regular 32bit access fails.
I've posted numerous logs on that problem on several forums, including this one, but no solution.
I've nearly given up fixing the 32bit pathway problem..but have run sfc and sfcFix get as far as I can then do a win7 repair install if that doesn't work.
Suggestions?
Thank you.
