Hello!

I've been experiencing trouble with my computer over the past few months (it freezes, bluescreens show up, prompt shut-downs, not booting correctly).
It ran fine after reinstalling windows, but the symptomes showed up again recently (after a few automatic updates). I started to suspect the svchost.exe because
it is taking up unusual amounts of RAM. After a bit of research, I tested the "sfc /scannow" command and found corrupted files that could not be repaired automatically.
To repair these files I stumbled across Sysnative and SFCFix which also found two corrupted files.

So I'm asking here for help in regards of repairing these files to hopefully fix my problem with this.

My system is
Windows 7 Professional (64-bit)

I attached a zip containing the text-files of the CBS- and SFCFix-Logs.

Kind regards and thanks in advance,
EMU :)

Hi ItsEMU :welcome: to Sysnative.

Besides the errors presented on the logs you provided I would like to see if there are more that we need to take care, please execute the following:

System Update Readiness Tool (SUR)
  • Download the System Update Readiness Tool (x64) and save it to some place, its a big download and eventually we need to run it several times, please keep the file
  • Run the tool. Its like an Update but it can take a long time to do the work. You will get an Installation Complete screen when it's done running
  • Please attach to your post the log from the following location: C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CheckSUR.log
    Note:
If the file is too big please Zip it and upload the ZIP file to a service like Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive or upload to SendSpace and just provide the link for the file here.

Thank you for answering and welcoming me :)

The tool worked with the update 'KB947821'.
I attached the new Log-File.

Hi,

The last log is clean. (I wasn't expecting that!)

Lets replace the files reported by SFC... please apply the following fix.

SFCFix Script

!!! WARNING !!! The following fix is only relevant for this system and no other, applying this fix on another computer will not work and most likely will cause problems...
  • Download SFCFix.exe (by Niemiro) and save it to the Desktop
  • Download the file SFCFIX.ZIP, attached below, and save this to your Desktop
  • On your Desktop, make sure you have the two files:
    myjIXnC.png
    SFCFix.exe and
    sfpcJCen14An3ndjNGCI7mByhjHJud.png
    SFCFIX.zip
  • Drag the file SFCFIX.zip onto the file SFCFix.exe and release it
  • The SFCFix tool will process the script
  • Upon completion, a log file SFCFix.txt should be created on your Desktop
  • Open the SFCFix.txt log and copy & paste the contents to your post

Hey!

I applied the fix and it seems to have been successful.
I went on ahead and ran the 'scannow' command and it no longer shows any sign of corrupted files or other problems.

Thank you so much for your help and time!
Sincerely,
EMU

Hi,

That's good news.

If you force Windows to search for new updates there are some to install?

Yes, there are '5 important' and '6 optional' updates available.
Roughly summarized:

important:
- monthly safetyrollup KB338818
- another safetyrollup for .NET Frameworks KB340556
- .NET Framework KB4054530
- Windows 7 update KB2952664
- tool to remove malicious software KB890830

optional:
- advanced micro devices
- several Windows 7 updates KB -2574819 /-2830477 /-3080079 /-3102429 /-2592687

Hi,

Try to install the important ones to see if there are no other problems.

The important updates were installed correctly and there is no sign of new problems after a scan with the sfc!

Good.

Then it seems this thread can be considered as resolved. :thumbsup2:
