was trying to repair packages resparse ponts for a few months, and as long as it was still working i let it be.
sfc found no corrupt files.
i started having trouble with windows defender and kept trying fixes for it. finally (and i'm not sure what i did) the windows defender app was "repaired" and "reset" etc; and then was somehow uninstalled and i could not open the "Windows Security" window.
And now it's gone entirely. i checked sfc (as i have all the way through) and for the first time since everything began there were corruptions. some of which were not corrected. i tried again with no change. i started using sfcfix with these results:
---------------------------------------------------
SFCFix version 3.0.2.1 by niemiro.
Start time: 2024-02-25 10:24:56.612
Microsoft Windows 10 Build 22631 - amd64
Not using a script file.

SFCFix version 3.0.2.1 by niemiro has encountered an unhandled exception.
Currently storing 0 datablocks.
Finish time: 2024-02-25 10:25:50.424
----------------------EOF-----------------------
2 times. so i'm here now, hoping for a resolution.

my windows defender is mostly gone.
Both my antivirus and firewall are Avast Antivirus.
some of my (microsoft?) packages are missing and have been for some months.
sfc after months coming clean shows corrupt files and unable to repair some of them.
SFCFix shows nothing (as above).
(Sorry for half written post just above i didn't intend it)

I did a dism CheckHealth;ScanHealth; RestoreHealth.
then i did an sfc and it says it corrected all of them.
windows Defender is still abscent.
The incomplete packages are still not reparsed correctly
what else?
can you still help me?
Mail and Calendar app is inaccessible for a lot longer but it didn't interfere with anything else. just in case it helps.
