Hi,

Lets check if the corrupted files are fixed...

SFC scan

  • Please open up a Command Prompt Window as a Administrator, instructions for Windows 7 or Windows 8 and 8.1.
  • Inside the command prompt window type or copy & Paste the following command:
    sfc /scannow

Note: This may take some time to finish. If the result is not "No integrity violations found" or equivalent please do the following:

Export the CBS folder

  1. Open the folder C:\Windows\Logs
  2. Right-click on the CBS folder, and select Copy
  3. Go back to your Desktop, right-click on it, and select Paste. You should now see a copy of the CBS folder appear on your Desktop called CBS
  4. Right-click on this new folder, and navigate through Send to, and select Compressed (zipped) folder
  5. A new file, also called CBS (CBS.zip), but this time with a different icon, will be created
If the zip file is too large to upload to the forum please share the file using a service like Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive or upload to SendSpace and just provide the link for the file here.

View attachment CBS.zip

C:\Windows\system32>sfc /scannow

Beginning system scan. This process will take some time.

Hi,

» Check the Disk for Errors

  • open the Command Prompt as Administrator (Tutorial)
  • type the command:
    Code:
    chkdsk /r /x C:
Note: When it ask if you want to checked the volume next time the system restarts answer Yes
  • Restart the Computer and let the check run during boot, it may take some time depending on the Hard Disk size...

Next,

  • download ListChkdskResult
  • execute the file and accept all the windows prompts to authorize the program to run
  • Notepad will open with a report showing the chkdsk result
  • copy & paste the log to your reply

It seems the hard drive is failing!!! please backup your data ASAP to some external hard drive, flash drive, etc.

I think you really need to consider replacing the hard drive.

Hi,

Ok keep me in the loop. Maybe its time to replace the HDD with a SSD?

If you need help on deciding please provide more details about your machine.

This could provide useful information about your machine...
  • download Speccy Portable save the file to some place
  • extract the Zip file spsetupxxx.zip to an empty folder
  • run Speccy/Speccy64 according to the Operating System you have

To publish a Speccy profile to the Web:
  1. In Speccy, click File, and then click Publish Snapshot.
  2. In the Publish Snapshot dialog box, click Yes to enable Speccy to proceed.
  3. Speccy publishes the profile and displays a second Publish Snapshot. You can open the URL in your default browser, copy it to the clipboard, or close the dialog box

Please post the resulting URL.

Hi,

Replacing the 149GB FUJITSU HDD with a new SSD of 256GB will give you a little more disk space and the system will respond better because SSD are almost 10x faster than a mechanical hard drive.

Do you have the Windows 7 install DVD or the Toshiba Rescue disks?

Are you interested in upgrading to Windows 10?
