I have tried DSIM several times
uninstalled Avast with uninstaller and removed any remnants manually via search

Avast now reinstalled

Sorry for the size of the CBS file and everything in the CBS log after about 12:18 is with Avast removed as is the above SFCFix log

Thanks in advance,

Hedge

Hi and welcome to Sysnative. If you still need assistance, can you tell me if you are using the free or paid version of Avast?

Hi Brian, Thanks for your response

It is the Free version, if you require any further information I will be happy to comply.

Hedge

Hi Brian,
I have uninstalled Avast with its uninstaller as before, now running without AV, awaiting instructions

Thank Hedge

Thanks. Let's start with the following.

SFC Scan
1. Right-click on the Start
w8start.png
button and select Command Prompt (Admin)
2. When command prompt opens, Copy (Ctrl+C) and Paste (Right-click > Paste) the following command into it, then press Enter
sfc /scannow

3. Once it finishes, copy and paste the following into the command-prompt window and press Enter.
copy %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log "%userprofile%\Desktop\cbs.txt"

4. Once this has completed please go to your Desktop and you will find CBS.txt => Right-click on this file and choose Send To...Compressed (zipped folder). Please upload this zipped file CBS.zip to this thread

Please Note:: if the file is too big to upload to your next post please upload via a service such as Dropbox or One Drive or SendSpace and just provide the link.

Thanks. Please do the following.

  1. Download SFCFix.exe (by niemiro) and save this to your Desktop. If you still have this on your desktop from downloading previously, you don't need to re-download.

  4. On your Desktop, you should see two files: SFCFix.exe and SFCFix.zip.
  5. Drag the file SFCFix.zip onto the file SFCFix.exe and release it.
  6. SFCFix will now process the script.
  7. Upon completion, a file should be created on your Desktop: SFCFix.txt.
  8. Copy (Ctrl+C) and Paste (Ctrl+V) the contents of this file into your next post for me to analyse please

Thanks Again, Hedge

Dear Brian,
I am very sorry, but with jumping through hoops with so called out of date GPUs, extremely buggy performance, settings doing what they want, when they want (probably system orientated looking at my CBS log)
I am going back to windows 7 I have had just about enough of this windows 10 debacle.
Again I am really sorry to have wasted you precious time.
Thank you so much for what you have done
Keep up the sterling work
Hedge
