Hello-

I am having an issue with a corrupt file that 'sfc /scannow' can't fix. I do NOT want to do yet another Recovery ReInstall. I'll post the file from the CBS.log, followed by a .zip file of the entire 3X Scan/Restart sequence.

2015-06-29 22:00:08, Info CSI 00000338 [SR] Cannot repair member file [l:26{13}]"iesysprep.dll" of Microsoft-Windows-IE-Sysprep, Version = 11.2.9600.16428, pA = PROCESSOR_ARCHITECTURE_IA32_ON_WIN64 (10), Culture neutral, VersionScope = 1 nonSxS, PublicKeyToken = {l:8 b:31bf3856ad364e35}, Type neutral, TypeName neutral, PublicKey neutral in the store, hash mismatch

Here is the complete scan for those interested- it may help-

I sure would appreciate any and all help on this matter. Thank you in advance.

Kind Regards-

tim

UPDATE-

Here's a log from C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CheckSUR (Dism / Online /Cleanup-Image /scanhealth @ CMD) which has 2 errors. Running 'Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image/ restorehealth' brings an Error 87.

Thanks.

Hello Tim and welcome to the forum

Download and Run SFCFix

Please download and run SFCFix from >Here<

It will take about 15 minutes to process. Once the scan has completed a notepad file will launch with the results. Please copy and paste the entire contents of the results and post them back into this thread. Please put

tags around the log to break up the text.

Please follow the instructions Here to run the System Update Readiness Tool. When the SURT finishes installing, copy (Ctrl + C) and paste (Ctrl + V) the contents of the SURT log into your next post please:
C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CheckSUR.log
C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CheckSUR.persist.log

Thank you so much, Go The Power!... I'm sitting here at present, running out of hair to pull out... I just ran the SURT, and have very current 'CheckSur.log' and 'CheckSUR.persist.log', however, I'll run everything from the beginning again as you requested. I certainly appreciate your help- Thank you!

Kind Regards-

Oh-oh!... I have an issue already- the 'SFCFix' asked for the Windows 7 DVD. The only thing I have is the 4 disk Recovery set I made from the installed HP program (see below). Now, I do have a general disk that a friend over on sevenforums gave me a download to. It has all versions on it and has had the 'ei.cfg removal utility' run on it. I do not know if there's a hash mismatch issue or not. Is it viable?... this is a new HP Envy 700-515xt CTO OEM machine.
I'll wait for your direction- Please advice.

Thanks-

tim

Hello-
I'm still stuck with this same issue. I sure could use some help, please. I have found the corrupted file(s), extracted new ones from the install disk, and replaced in the proper directories.
Now, there is still one corrupted file still showing. I have ran 'SFCFix.exe' with the install disk and it won't fix it.
The file in question is:

C:\Windows\winsxs\wow64_microsoft-windows-ie-sysprep_31bf3856ad364e35_11.2.9600.16428_none_083dd73103d4\iesysprep.dll

Yes, I can find the corrupted file in the System, but it is NOT on the install disk.
Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank-you!

UPDATE!
Problem solved. We uninstalled IE11 and subsequent Security Update, reverted back to installation of IE8, ran 'sfc /scannow' and came up clean 3 times. There's something buggy in IE11, and/or in combination with said Update. We are going to find out why. No wonder the above noted 'iesysprep.dll' in 'winsxs\wow64' couldn't be found on the install disk.
