Before I come to specific, please allow me give you a background.

I bought Dell Laptop nearly 2 years ago having both SSD and HDD drives. It was attacked by a virus and OEM OS Windows 8 was corrupted. I was provided by a DVD by dell to reinstall Windows but not all the components were functioning. A couple of months ago, I was provided with a Product Key which helped me resolving some of the problems. But still, I was not able to run "Store". It says ÿour PC has run into problem. Refresh it. When I try to refresh, it says, cannot refresh because the drive where Windows is installed is locked. Unlock drive and try again.

From Internet, I came to know that, probably, by running "sfc /scannow" I may be able to refresh my PC. I ran the command several times but at last got the message that "CNBJ2350.DBR" cannot be repaired.

Then, I came across with tom982's discussion on resolving a similar problem. therefore, I am posting this thread.

Can someone extend the help.

After I ran sfc /scannow I got the message that "Windows Resource did not find any integrity violation.

CBS file has been uploaded on ge.tt at the link CBS.log.

However, when I ran "Store", after restarting PC and tried to download a game, it gave same message that something has happened to your PC. Refresh it. And when I try to refresh, it says, some files are missing and your media can provide those files. When I insert DVD, and try to repair windows, it says, cannot load files because the drive where Windows is installed, is locked.

Any suggestion? Please advise.

With best regards,

Atul

Good that file has been fixed now.

Can you post a screenshot of the error you are getting inside the store?

Also how are you trying to do the refresh? is it through the boot options? or through the control panel?

Thanks Go the Power.:smile9::smile9:

I was able to reload Windows using DVD.

Problem solved.

Thanks again and with best regards,

Atul

PS: I am not able to find the tag "Solved". Please close the thread as solved.
