Many thanks for responding but I can't attach the cbs.zip file to my reply..the file won't upload from my desktop..any ideas?
I wonder if it's because I am using Firefox to use this site rather than IE? I try to 'add file' on the pop-op upload manager box and in the top right a download wheel keeps on turning regardless..
many thanks for your help fellas. I suspect these corrupt files are the cause of my freezes and hangings, as it were..sorry not PC savvy so my explanations are somewhat lacking in insight...

does this mean there are now no corrupted files on my computer? I don't understand because I have ran this program at least 5 times and they all came back with 18 corrupted files..I can only assume it has worked this time..I'm chuffed and extend my thanks to this site and its contributors..appreciated
Thanks for coming back. I ran SFCFix and it came back with 18 corrupted files. This has caused my PC to freeze after every boot up from cold so to 'solve' this I simply leave my PC running 24/7 which equals zero freezes and access to my computer. I thought of a restore to factory settings or maybe reinstall Wins7. The corrupted files are as you can see something to do with screen savers..I don't understand why these dodgy files only affect my PC on startup and appear to be irrelevant at all other times
Let's see what we can do. Please start with the following.
Step#1 - SFCFix Script Warning: this fix is specific to the user in this thread. No one else should follow these instructions as it may cause more harm than good. If you are after assistance, please start a thread of your own.
Download SFCFix.exe (by niemiro) and save this to your Desktop. If you still have this on your desktop from downloading previously, you don't need to re-download.
Download SFCFix.zip, and save this to your Desktop. Ensure that this file is named SFCFix.zip - do not rename it.
Save any open documents and close all open windows.
On your Desktop, you should see two files: SFCFix.exe and SFCFix.zip.
Drag the file SFCFix.zip onto the file SFCFix.exe and release it.
SFCFix will now process the script.
Upon completion, a file should be created on your Desktop: SFCFix.txt.
Copy (Ctrl+C) and Paste (Ctrl+V) the contents of this file into your next post for me to analyse please
Thanks..I have tried this (and though it may appear simplistic to some but to a newbie) and I cannot for life of me make this happen. I download SFCFix, run the program and it spews out a report with 18 corrupted files. Then I have no idea what to do with this. Then I open the dropbox thing but no idea how to save it to my desktop...I just wanna delete or repair these silly corrupt files...driving me up the wall..they're not a virus etc
Got it. Use Internet Explorer instead. Then click on BOTH links and save both of the files to your desktop. Let me know when both files are on your desktop.
