Aura:

Thanks for your offer of assistance over at Bleeping Computer to resolve this issue in this Forum for me. I really appreciate it.

The link to my BC post is here.

I don't know where you find the time to be so involved in helping people. It is much appreciated. I am sure that you are as much of an asset here as you are over at Bleeping Computer.

Have a great day.

Regards,
-Phil

Hi Phil :)

Most of the time when I get home I'm bored, or I have a bit of time to assist at work since a lot of work I do right now is remote so :P Let's run a SFC scan first, just so I can get the exact error line, and then I'll post the fix.

System File Checker (SFC)
Follow the instructions below to run a SFC scan on your system and to provide the CBS log in your next reply;
  • On Windows Vista & 7, click on the Windows Start Menu, then enter cmd in the search box, right-click on the cmd icon and select
    Spcusrh.png
    Run as Administrator
  • On Windows 8, drag your cursor in the bottom-left corner, and right-click on the metro menu preview, then select Command Prompt (Admin);
  • On Windows 8.1, right click on the Windows logo in the bottom-left corner and select Command Prompt (Admin);
  • Enter the command below and press on Enter;
    Code:
    sfc /scannow
    Note: There's a space between "sfc" and "/scannow";
  • Once the scan is complete, enter the command below and press on Enter
    Code:
    copy %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log "%userprofile%\Desktop\cbs.txt"
  • A file called cbs.txt will have appeared on your Desktop. Upload the file on Dropbox, Google Drive or OneDrive and post the download URL for it here;
Note: Please note that the CBS.log is volatile, which means that if you don't upload it after the SFC scan is completed, it won't have the information from the scan anymore. So archive it and upload it as soon as you can.

Aura:

Thank you for your response. My first post over at Bleeping Computer had the exact lines and error messages. I extracted them from the cbs.log.

Code:

I can run the sfc scan again and post the entire .cbs.log file, but those are the only four error lines when I ran it three days ago and nothing has changed since then.

Please let me know if you need the entire cbs.log file, and I will post it or attach it or create a link to my Sendspace account. Those things can be very large, which is why I extracted only the lines containing the "opencl.dll" errors.

Let me know your pleasure, Aura. Thank you and have a great day.

Regards,
-Phil

I need the full CBS.log, since these lines are only part of the error message I'm looking for :) You can upload the file to Sendspace, Dropbox, Google Drive or OneDrive. You can even rename the CBS.log before running SFC if you think that it'll be too big to upload. Windows will create a new one automatically.

Let's replace the files reported as corrupt by SFC :) Follow the instructions below please.

Aura:

Thank you. I am a little confused by this Forum. Someone had hijacked my thread, and I do remember thanking you, but that post seems to have disappeared along with the posts from the "hijacker."

I do want you to know that I greatly appreciate the fact that you solved my sfc issues. THANK YOU! Sfc scans are now clean.

I did run across a strange issue today, which I will post on BC tomorrow, but it had nothing to do with this issue. Breaking in a new OS is always fun, but you learn so much, if you can withstand the frustration.

In any event, thank you, Aura. I will find you if I encounter similar issues in the future. You are a credit to Sysnative and BC. Take care, my friend, and thanks again.

Best Regards,
-Phil

I don't see any posts being deleted in this thread, unless the Staff that did it (if it happened) used the "hard delete" option o.O

Well, I'm glad to see that your issue has been solved Phil, it's my pleasure to assist you :) Take care!

Aura:

You are right. I got this Forum confused with the BC Windows 10 Forum, where I initially posted my sfc problem. Sorry about that. Hard to get good help. :wave:

Have a great day, and thank you again.

Regards,
-Phil

All good Phil :) Have a good day!
