Hey guys,

I've submitted to this forum before (here) and we're having the exact same issues/symptoms on another server we manage. See below:

We've used SFCFix and stepped through the process as per the forums however we're not having any luck. The tool basically crashes on us instantly. This is the log thats spit out by SFCFix:

SFCFix version 3.0.2.1 by niemiro.
Start time: 2019-09-09 12:48:03.455
Microsoft Windows Server 10 Build 14393 - amd64
Not using a script file.

SFCFix version 3.0.2.1 by niemiro has encountered an unhandled exception.
Currently storing 0 datablocks.
Finish time: 2019-09-09 12:48:23.811

I've attached our CBS logfile as a ZIP.

Hi!

Please run the following to see if the automated fix method works:

Step#1 - DISM /RestoreHealth Scan
Warning:this fix is specific to the user in this thread. No one else should follow these instructions as it may cause more harm than good. If you are after assistance, please start a thread of your own.

  1. Right-click on the Start button and select Command Prompt (Admin)
  2. When command prompt opens, Copy (Ctrl+C) and Paste (Right-click > Paste) the following command into it, then press Enter
    Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
  3. Once it finishes, copy and paste the following into the command-prompt window and press Enter. If prompted to overwrite the existing file go ahead.
    copy %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log "%userprofile%\Desktop\cbs.txt"
  4. Once this has completed please go to your Desktop and you will find CBS.txt => Please zip/upload to this thread.
Please Note:: if the file is too big (over 7MB) to upload to your next post, please upload via a service such as Dropbox or One Drive or SendSpace and just provide the link.

As a side note, SFCFix is being blocked by your Server, you need to right-click on it and select Properties and on the General tab there should be a Security section with the Unblock option, check it and hit apply.

I've never actually ever seen a program be blocked like that! Anyway, please see the attached cbs log from a DISM. Error is below:

Error: 0x800f081f

The source files could not be found.
Use the "Source" option to specify the location of the files that are required to restore the feature. For more information on specifying a source location, see Configure a Windows Repair Source.

Please do the following:

SFCFix Script

Warning: this fix is specific to the user in this thread. No one else should follow these instructions as it may cause more harm than good. If you are after assistance, please start a thread of your own.

  1. Download SFCFix.exe (by niemiro) and save this to your Desktop.
  2. Download the file below, SFCFix.zip, and save this to your Desktop. Ensure that this file is named SFCFix.zip - do not rename it.
  3. Save any open documents and close all open windows.
  4. On your Desktop, you should see two files: SFCFix.exe and SFCFix.zip.
  5. Drag the file SFCFix.zip onto the file SFCFix.exe and release it.
  6. SFCFix will now process the script.
  7. Upon completion, a file should be created on your Desktop: SFCFix.txt.
  8. Copy (Ctrl+C) and Paste (Ctrl+V) the contents of this file into your next post for me to analyse please - put

tags around the log to break up the text.

DISM restore was successful. Let me know if you still require logs. Got a bit of latency on this server still but it's a lot better than what it was originally.
