Hi, first or all, great forum.

I've recently had some trouble with a win7 machine. Did lots of things to repair. From fixing BSOD (AVG issue) to recently managing checkSUR to return 0 errors. Still cannot get a clean SFC run (just 2 files corrupted.)

Already run SFCFix.

Many thanks in advance,
Leandro.

Follow the instructions below to run a scan with the System Update Readiness Tool (SURT) and provide a log.
  1. Download SURT for your system. (Windows 7 SP1 x64)
  2. Once downloaded, execute the installer, and go through the installation (this process can take around 15-20 minutes).
  3. On completion, a log will be created in C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CheckSUR.log.
  4. Attach this log in your next reply.
Alternatively, if these instructions are unclear for you, you can follow the tutorial below.

System Update Readiness Tool (SURT)

Great. The latest log files are clean. Are there any remaining issues ?

Check Windows Update first. If it fails, run sfc /scannow again and attach the zipped cbs.log to your next reply.

windows update ends ok though no important updates were offered.

ran sfc /scannow anyway and returned no errors. I would say you did a great job then!

I can still see some issues, maybe i should open a new thread?

issues)
  • every time pc starts, it takes quite a long time to connect automatically to wifi and if you try to access 'network centre' meanwhile, it freezes (not the whole pc though). Eventually, wifi connection takes place and everything returns to normal again but this is not common behavior i guess.
  • there are also some pop up errors if you try to access the task scheduler.
  • i've always tried to install a special tag printer (datamax) but never could cause of some driver issues apparently. I dont know if all this has something to do with it.

You did a wonderful job Peter. Many thanks.

there are also some pop up errors if you try to access the task scheduler.
We can have a look at this.

  1. Download the Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your Desktop:
64-bit: Downloading Farbar Recovery Scan Tool
  2. Right-click to run the tool as administrator. When the tool opens click Yes to disclaimer.
  3. Note: Ensure that the Addition.txt check box is checked at the bottom of the form within the Optional Scan area.
  4. Press the Scan button.
  5. Please wait for the tool to finish. It will produce two logfiles called FRST.txt and Addition.txt in the same directory the tool is run from (which should be the desktop)
  6. Post the logfiles FRST.txt and Addition.txt as attachment in your next reply.

Thank you Peter. Here are both files attached.

I also attached a picture showing some trouble with firewall (maybe that has to do with connection issues when pc starts, as mentioned before). Cant change any options offered in the screen (as if they were disabled). Seems some corruption over there too. Let me tell you all this was working fine a while ago. Also this machine suffered a number of power interruptions.

Best,

There is a hacktool installed to use Windows and / or Office not legitimately.
It is against the rules to help people with an illegal operating system or other illegally used programs.
Hacktools can make your system slower and also less secure.
Do you agree that we continue to do a repair attempt for this computer that will also remove the hacktool ?

Could you point out which hacktool is it?
Thanks for sharing. I'll be having a chat with the place we bought this computer from :/

This said, of course peter, go ahead with the repair attempt.

Okay, here we go.

Step 1:
Uninstall the hacktool KMSpico v9.2.3.
Reboot the machine.

Step 2:
Warning: This script was written specifically for this user, for use on that particular machine. Do not run this script on another machine.
  1. Download the attachment fixlist.txt and save it to your desktop.
  2. Right-click on FRST64.exe and select "Run as administrator".
  3. Press the Fix button.
  4. The tool will now process fixlist.txt.
  5. If for some reason the tool needs a restart, please make sure you let the system restart normally. After that let the tool complete its run.
  6. When finished, a log called Fixlog.txt will appear in the same directory the tool is run from.
  7. Post the logfile Fixlog.txt as attachment in your next reply.
