Good Morning All

I am having problems with MS Edge.... I ran a SFC /scannow from the prompt and attach the log with errors.

What is my next step to repair - since SFC warned that it could not repair all corruptions.

Thanks,
Don

Hello there Don!

Let's try DISM and see if it can repair the corruptions that SFC found, or give a little more information.

DISM /RestoreHealth Scan

Warning: this fix is specific to the user in this thread. No one else should follow these instructions as it may cause more harm than good. If you are after assistance, please start a thread of your own.

  1. Right-click on the Start
    w8start.png
button and select Command Prompt (Admin)
  2. When command prompt opens, Copy (Ctrl+C) and Paste (Right-click > Paste) the following command into it, then press Enter

    Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

Wait for this to finish before you continue

    copy %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log %userprofile%\Desktop\cbs.txt

  3. This will create a file, cbs.txt on your Desktop. Please zip and attach this to your next post.

If the zip file is larger than 8MB, please use a file sharing service such as OneDrive, DropBox, SendSpace, etc. and include the link with your reply.

Looks like two repairs were made. Go ahead and restart, then run DISM again. If no errors are detected, run SFC again.
If an error is detected, please zip and attach the CBS log.

Looks good :)

Go ahead and run SFC, then zip and attach the CBS log again.

I don't see any signs of other corruption being detected, so let's continue.

Does Edge function at this point?

Yes! Thanks - OK, is there anything else we need to do to make sure all is OK?
Routine prevention?

Don.

Since DISM and SFC report that all is well it should be okay :)

Does Windows Update offer the 1909 feature update now?

:-) Sounds good... thanks.
Update 1909? Hmmm not sure... I wonder if it was installed already? What is the KB number if any?

Right click on the start menu and choose Run.
In the run box, type 'winver' without the quotes, then press enter or click OK.

The box should display the Windows 10 version. If it is build 1903, try clicking the Update Now button on this page to upgrade: Download Windows 10
Let me know if this gives any errors.

Glad to help, I'll mark the thread solved. If you encounter any problems post back and I will continue to assist you.
