Hello,
The problem started with an error message saying "Failed to connect to a Windows service: Windows couldn't connect to the Group Policy Client service. This problem prevents standard users from signing in. As an administrative user, you can review the system event log for details about why the service didn't respond."
This message appeared as soon as I logged in. There were no desktop icons showing and the sound was not working. I tried rebooting a few times, the sound problem comes and goes but the rest stay the same.
This was not the first time this happened to me and I fixed it once before. It was a registry problem that I found the solution for online. There were missing parameters in the gpsvc key. But now the registry is fine nothing is missing everything is as it should be, so I searched more. I found the sfc/scannow command on a Microsoft website and tried it. On that website I also found how to get the results in a text file on the desktop. I attached those results. View attachment sfcdetails.txt
As for the CBS logs, I will attach them too as stated in the instructions. View attachment 8531
I tried 2 DISM commands too but they ended with an error. At the moment, I cant even open text files in normal windows mode. In safe mode things are okay.
I am sorry if its too long I just wanted to include everything.
I am using windows 8.1 on an Alienware M14x if that helps.
