Hello, this is my first time on this forum and I have been having some issues with this system I am working on. I believe there is some form of system corruption having to involve the cbscore.dll. I cannot run SFC, DISM or update my system without some form of error code. I have tried using CHKDSK and it said that it detected some system corruption and fixed the issue however the issue is still unresolved. I also tried the SFCfix however it said that it did not detect any form of corruption and I tried using the Windows repair tool and it failed to run SFC and DISM still. I saw a different forum post where someone else had encountered the same issue and had it resolved however it required someone to provide a SFCFix.zip file. I was hoping someone could help provide the file for my system in particular that I am using.

The thread I am referencing:
[SOLVED] - SFC Scan Now and DISM Failure: cbscore.dll

Error Outputs:
C:\WINDOWS\system32>SFC /scannow

Windows Resource Protection could not start the repair service.

C:\WINDOWS\system32>DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

Deployment Image Servicing and Management tool
Version: 10.0.19041.572

Image Version: 10.0.19041.685

Error: 193

%1 is not a valid Win32 application.

The DISM log file can be found at C:\WINDOWS\Logs\DISM\dism.log

System Info:
Windows 10 Pro 2004
Intel i5-3470T @2.90GHz at 2 Cores
8GB DDR3

(I have attached all log files I think are required)

Possibly unit has mixed 32 and 64 bit .dll(s) When your 64 bit system attempts to use one (32) the result can produce the results you're having.

Step 2. Run the following DISM command and post the result. If it fails attach a new copy of the CBS log.
Code:

Hello, thank you for your Maxstar. I ran the SFCfix with the SFCfix.zip and it seems to have resolved my issue. It has successfully ran DISM and SFC and it is now capable of updating. Both DISM and SFC have said they have repaired system corruption.

Hi,

You're welcome. Please note that this system is still running Windows 10 2004! Support for this build ended 14-12-2021. So I would recommend to upgrade to 22H2 using the update assistant.

Download the

Windows 10 Update Assistant to your desktop.
  • Right-click on Windows10Upgrade9252.exe and select the option: Run as administrator.
  • Press the Update now button, click after the compatibility check on Next.
  • The Update Assistant will now download the latest Feature Update.
  • After verifying the download, the Feature Update will be installed.
  • When this process is ready, click on the Restart now button to complete the installation.
