I been having some problems with my computer I'm running windows 8.1 x64. Start up take a little longer than usual while displaying a black screen with just the mouse pointer on it. Then after awhile the start up screen finally pops up. Also I found that in my notification settings (Windows Desktop-> Right side menu -> Change PC settings -> Search & apps-> notifications) are all grayed out with red text above saying that my settings are managed by a system admin. Here's the thing, this is a personal computer. There is no system admin besides me and I never set this up, I asked a friend for help and he told me to run command prompt(admin) with:sfc /scannow when I did it found two corrupted files. I got online looking around and found this web site. Since then I've already downloaded SFCfix.exe and ran it it found two corrupted files and it could only fix one. Can anyone help me? See attached SFCfix.txt . CBS files are shortly to follow.

Hello again :)

This should get the files repaired:

SFCFix Script

Warning: this fix is specific to the user in this thread. No one else should follow these instructions as it may cause more harm than good. If you are after assistance, please start a thread of your own.

  1. Download SFCFix.exe (by niemiro) and save this to your Desktop.
  2. Download SFCFix.zip, and save this to your Desktop. Ensure that this file is named SFCFix.zip - do not rename it.
  3. Save any open documents and close all open windows.
  4. On your Desktop, you should see two files: SFCFix.exe and SFCFix.zip.
  5. Drag the file SFCFix.zip onto the file SFCFix.exe and release it.
  6. SFCFix will now process the script.
  7. Upon completion, a file should be created on your Desktop: SFCFix.txt.
  8. Copy (Ctrl+C) and Paste (Ctrl+V) the contents of this file into your next post for me to analyse please - put [CODE][/CODE] tags around the log to break up the text.

    Code:
    cmd /c copy %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log "%userprofile%\Desktop\cbs.txt"
