My computer has been acting up for a few years and I finally have the time to do some thing about it.

Fixed a lot of the problems, but not 100. Used laptop recovery partition to reinstall drivers and windows essentials, SFC scans, SFCfix, still corrupt files and a little buggy. (Don't think it is related but bluetooth doesn't work properly)

Would really appreciate help.

  • SFCFix will launch, let it complete.
  • Once done, a file will appear on your desktop, called SFCFix.txt.
  • Attach that file to your next reply.

Restart the computer.
Run the command sfc /scannow in a elevated command-prompt and report the result.
If it fails, attach the zipped cbs.log to your next reply.

Still says corruption.

I just selected the most recent scan output and put it in a separate file titled cbs.log (attached).

There are no new errors in the latest log file.
Restart the computer.
Check Windows Update and report the result.
If it fails, attach the zipped cbs.log to your next reply.

Great. This thread will be marked as solved.

Take care.

The issues you started this thread with are back ?

After doing the fixes and everything, my laptop went into sleep mode, and when I went to use it I got a BDOS. I tried running verifier.exe and then got another, and then it restored to a restore point. I'm not sure of the order of bccodes but I got 9f, 7a, and c9.

EDIT: It seems to only be the last fix that we did. (It restored to a point before that fix)

FRST Scan:
  1. Download the Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your Desktop:
64-bit: Downloading Farbar Recovery Scan Tool
  2. Right-click to run the tool as administrator. When the tool opens click Yes to disclaimer.
  3. Note: Ensure that the Addition.txt check box is checked at the bottom of the form within the Optional Scan area.
  4. Press the Scan button.
  5. Please wait for the tool to finish. It will produce two logfiles called FRST.txt and Addition.txt in the same directory the tool is run from (which should be the desktop)
  6. Post the logfiles FRST.txt and Addition.txt as attachment in your next reply.

  1. Download the attachment fixlist.txt and save it to your desktop.
  2. Right-click on FRST64.exe and select "Run as administrator".
  3. Press the Fix button.
  4. The tool will now process fixlist.txt.
  5. If for some reason the tool needs a restart, please make sure you let the system restart normally. After that let the tool complete its run.
  6. When finished, a log called Fixlog.txt will appear in the same directory the tool is run from.
  7. Post the logfile Fixlog.txt as attachment in your next reply.

Open an elevated command prompt.
Copy and paste the following commands into it, press enter after each.

Code:
sfc /scannow
Wait for this to finish before you continue

Code:
copy %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log "%userprofile%\Desktop\cbs.txt"
This will create a file, cbs.txt on your Desktop. Zip this file and attach the zipped cbs.txt to your next post.
