Hello
Have just come across this site looking at how to replace corrupt files from an SFC scan. I ran the scan as I have been having numerous problems. Firstly noticed a few icons missing in notification area, then when I tried to open a new user account, first time opening I saw the logging in message and then just logged back out, also there are no tiles or apps on the windows 8 screen, just start button in left corner and name and power button in right. If I search from the windows 8 screen it finds nothing. I have tried deleting account and open a new one but still the same, Microsoft account or local. Also when I try to restart it gets as far as switching screen off but pc stays on.I have scanned with Kaspersky and Malwarebytes but found nothing so I tried the sfc which found three corrupt and fixed one with the sfcfix tool. I have attached report if anybody can shed some light would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Hi Duka,

Those files have been repaired now :)

About your original issue with icons missing from the taskbar, which ones are missing? If you you click on the little up arrow inside the system tray and select customize, you can see which ones you want to display. If that does fix it inside the same windows click on Restore default icon behaviors.

That's great thanks very much.
I still cant fix the problem with a new user account but will keep trying.

Regards

Are the icons still disappearing for the notification bar? Which icons are disappearing? Do you know if the process are still running in the background, its ok if you dont I can help you find that out.

Hi
Sorry for taking so long to reply, but having major issues with trying to open new user account and the pc not restarting. was hoping the repaired sfc files would have fixed the new user account problem. I have sorted the missing icons in notification by editing registry.
Thanks again for your help
